Nancy's first breakthrough came in 1990 when Craig Brown wrote a glowing article in the Sunday Times magazine entitled "Deep fried prawns in Battersea". More success followed; with the business continuing to grow when, in 1996 A A Gill wrote an article in the Sunday Times. This brought further recognition and Nancy then stepped into the national spotlight when she was chosen to help promote the launch of Channel 5. The rest, as they say, is history…

Nancy’s restaurant, Enak Enak (Indonesian for ‘yum yum’), has been one of South London’s worst kept secrets for over a decade, with its loyal regulars introducing an increasingly wide range of grateful new fans over the years.  As well as the unique cuisine – like Nancy herself, a fusion of Indonesian and Chinese, with influences from her native Singapore and hints of Thailand – part of Enak Enak appeal is the feisty atmosphere fostered in the intimate restaurant by Nancy and her Ghanaian husband Ben.  Whether it’s at Enak Enak or in your own kitchen, Nancy Lam’s food is fun!

Nowadays, Nancy's regular contributions on shows such as Daily & Saturday Cooks, This Morning, Market Kitchen and The New Paul O'Grady Show among others keeps her out of mischief.  In 2007, Nancy also launched her own inspired menu in London's most fashionable tropical hotspot, Mahiki.

His first TV appearance was in the obscure E4 show Noble and Silver: Get Off Me! in 2001, and he had a number of small roles until landing the part of RE teacher Ben Birkett in Channel 4's Teachers in 2004. He was a regular in the third series of The Catherine Tate Show in 2006, and starred in the BBC sitcom Roman's Empire the following year.

However his big break came with BBC Three hit Gavin & Stacey in 2007, which earned him a best male newcomer nomination at that year's British Comedy Awards.  On the show, he struck up a friendship with co-star (and co-writer of the series) James Corden.

They have since hosted Big Brother's Big Mouth together, as well as various awards ceremonies. Latterly they have been working together on a BBC sketch show, and a movie Lesbian Vampire Killers.
